New Documents on the Schubert Circle

A photograph of a then unknown Schubert letter was the point of departure for my research; the trail led to a country house loft which turned out to be harbouring the entire correspondence of Schubert's friend Ferdinand von Mayerhofer. These documents provide an interesting and highly readable complement to the conventional picture of Schubert's circle of friends.

Anna von Revertera, née von Hartmann, was closely associated with Franz Schubert and his circle of friends. 121 selected items shed light upon the fate of this interesting woman.They offer a variety of insights into a womans life in the Biedermeier period, and furthermore contain numerous new pieces of information about several of Schubert's friends.
